We had a lovely time biking to the
little beach town in Palanga, Lithuania.
Riding along the pier, through the town and along the beach. Unfortunately on the way back Leo’s foot got
caught in the wheel.
To cut a long story short, Allan
went back to our villa with the bikes to get the car and a policeman stopped to
help. I tried to explain that a car was
coming or that he could give us a lift to the police station (our villa shares
the same driveway as the police station) but he pretty much didn’t speak any
English. Instead he called an ambulance,
I tried saying no but he insisted J
Much to Allan’s surprise when he
returned he found himself following an ambulance! Corban was a little sad that she couldn’t go
with Leo. They took us to a special children’s hospital about 25km from where
we are staying.
Leo had an x-ray and much to our
surprise nothing was broken. They are
continuing to check him and change bandages each day until we leave. I guess they will give us some more
instructions after this. It’s a little
different to NZ, today the doctor just came and took Leo from us and returned
him when he was all patched up. Because
no one really speaks English and we didn’t see what was done we have to try and
get it out of Leo. He’s happy and brave that’s
the main thing.
